Jiaodong Dagu, a form of ballad that is accompanied by drum beats, is a popular Chinese folk vocal art in the Jiaodong Peninsula area.
Created by the blind, the art form has a history of more than 260 years and is filled with local characteristics and rustic flavor. In its early years, the singers were both storytellers and fortunetellers.

This form of ballad is usually performed by one person who sings along to the tunes of the sanxian (a three-stringed traditional Chinese instrument) played by another person.
Jiaodong Dagu was included in the list of national intangible cultural heritages in 2006.
