Ten teams from across China competed in the two-day finale of the 2026 Shandong Sailing League, which concluded its three-stop series at the Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center on Oct 25.

The Qingdao University of Science and Technology alumni sailing team won the Qingdao leg, followed by Dong-E-E-Jiao and Xuri Dongsheng teams. The three teams also took the top three places in the same order in the overall standings, determined by cumulative points from the Rizhao, Yantai, and Qingdao legs.

Organized by Shandong's provincial sports bureau, the league combined competitive sailing with public activities as part of the province's efforts to link sporting events with coastal tourism and encourage spending on accommodation, dining, and leisure.

Alongside the Qingdao races, a sailing carnival offered interactive activities, a themed market, and opportunities to try other sports. Residents and tourists browsed stalls selling coastal-themed cultural products and specialty goods, and visited brand displays, giving them a chance to learn about sailing beyond watching the races.
