A shipment of industrial safety equipment recently departed Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport on flight SC4925 to Urumqi, continuing on to Almaty, Kazakhstan, via a connecting flight. The smooth handling of this first "single-ticket" through-service shipment marks the official opening of the "Qingdao–Urumqi–Almaty" air cargo transit corridor, significantly enhancing the stability and efficiency of Qingdao's air freight links to Central Asia.

By combining the belly cargo capacity of passenger flights from Qingdao to Urumqi with regular cargo flights on the Urumqi–Almaty route, Qingdao airport has created a cost-effective and time-efficient logistics solution for cross-border shipments to Central Asia. After the corridor enters regular operation, industrial goods and specialty agricultural products between Qingdao and Almaty will be able to move quickly, strengthening the air logistics foundation for the economic and trade cooperation among the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states.

As a key pilot hub for air cargo transfer capability improvement, Qingdao airport, with support from customs, has upgraded its "Qingyida" cargo transfer service and established a cross-regional coordination mechanism, achieving efficient domestic-international cargo connections. From January to July, air-to-air cargo transfer volume at Qingdao airport surged nearly 90 percent year-on-year.
