One highlight was the zongzi-making contest, where 1,660 residents gathered to showcase their skills in making zongzi, a glutinous rice dumpling wrapped in bamboo or reed leaves. Creative zongzi displays, intangible cultural heritage exhibits, festive floats, and photo spots added to the lively atmosphere.

Qingdao has been expanding its "our festivals" cultural activities, regularly holding cultural performances and folk experiences during traditional holidays. Chengyang district's annual zongzi contest exemplifies the city's efforts to revitalize traditional festivals.
