(chinadaily.com.cn) | 2026-06-12

The 7th Qingdao Multinationals Summit will take place in the coastal city of Qingdao from June 15 to 17, with the theme "Advancing with the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–30) for Innovation and Future".

The event will include a high-level forum, parallel sessions, and investment promotion activities, serving as a platform for China's high-level opening-up and deeper cooperation with global companies.

To date, 435 corporate representatives are confirmed to attend, with 355 from overseas companies in 36 countries and regions, including the ASEAN, the EU, and South Korea, and 80 from Chinese firms, many of them leaders from Global Fortune 500 companies.

This year marks the start of China's 15th Five-Year Plan. The summit will help multinationals integrate into China's industrial, supply, and innovation chains and share in the benefits of China's large market, innovation, and institutional opening-up.

A total of 23 parallel events will focus on investment promotion, trade, industry exchange, and regional cooperation, providing more opportunities for dialogue. A research report, Multinationals in China, will also be released to explain China's opening policies, market opportunities, and innovation space during the 15th Five-Year Plan period.

As a key window for the world to observe China, the summit, held six times, has evolved into a high-level platform for openness and cooperation, where global companies can invest, grow, and succeed in China. With each summit, Qingdao enjoys a moment in the spotlight. One major highlight is the steady expansion of its cooperation network, with Qingdao attracting an increasing number of partners from around the world.

Over the past six editions, the summit has facilitated 412 projects in Qingdao by 179 Global Fortune 500 companies.

AstraZeneca, for example, has expanded investment for three consecutive years, with total investment reaching $750 million. Hexagon, another multinational, has its China regional headquarters in Qingdao, generating 4 billion yuan ($567 million) in annual sales.
