Qingdao airport launches Europe-Australia single-ticket air transfer
A batch of medical lifting platforms, originating from London and routed via Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport to Sydney, recently departed on an HNA Capital Airlines flight. This marked the first single-ticket air-to-air international transfer cargo operation at Qingdao airport, successfully opening a direct Europe-Australia transshipment corridor.
HNA Capital Airlines operates four intercontinental routes: Sydney, London, Moscow, and Melbourne, with Qingdao to provide a solid foundation for cargo transfer services. Working closely with Jiaodong Airport Customs, Qingdao airport has streamlined ground handling and introduced an "airside direct transfer" model, significantly optimizing cargo transit procedures.
For this first shipment, Qingdao airport used smart supervision to complete security checks and transfer declarations before the flight landed, ensuring seamless coordination. The operation achieved "one ticket to the end, seamless connection, and efficient transfer", greatly shortening delivery time from Europe to Australia.
This breakthrough expands Qingdao airport's "international-to-international" transshipment capabilities, strengthening its role as a global cargo hub. Moving forward, Qingdao will continue to improve the "Qingyida" transfer process, increase international passenger and cargo flights, and deepen the "air-to-air transfer pilot" — aiming to become a northern China air logistics hub while stabilizing intercontinental routes and expanding to Shanghai Cooperation Organization member countries.
