An intermodal freight train carrying aluminum hydroxide left the Xinxiang Inland Port in Henan province, bound for Rizhao Port of Shandong Port Group (SPG). This marks the start of the Xinxiang-Rizhao Port sea-rail intermodal train service operated by SPG Logistics Group. It is the 108th sea-rail freight train service of SPG and Rizhao Port's first for transporting chemical products, supporting stronger logistics coordination between Shandong and Henan.

Previously, the shipment of aluminum hydroxide relied heavily on road transport, leading to high logistics costs, significant wastage during long-distance transport, and unstable transport times. To help businesses address these challenges, SPG Logistics Group has worked closely with local chemical enterprises, ports, and railways to ensure efficient connections throughout the process, from cargo assembly to port loading.

The launch of the intermodal service is set to further the connectivity between Henan and SPG, providing a more efficient maritime corridor for hinterland enterprises. Tapping into the integrated operational advantages of SPG, the service will boost the port's cargo aggregation capacity and regional impact, supporting the coordinated development of the regional economy.

SPG has expanded its inland market, advanced the development of an intermodal demonstration project connecting inland, hub, and international ports, and improved logistics network operation efficiency, all to contribute to the nation's new development pattern of dual circulation.
