Qingdao has introduced more than 312 cultural and tourism activities for February to provide a festive and immersive Chinese New Year experience for visitors and locals. These events range from lantern festivals and folk performances to shopping markets and sports competitions.

New measures this year include extending highway toll discounts through the "ticket-based incentives" program, offering free admission to key scenic spots for those born in the Year of the Horse, and improving the "travel Qingdao from the sea" cruise experience. Major highlights include the 2026 Qingdao Turnip, Yuanxiao and Tangqiu Fair from Feb 17 to March 4, and a lantern festival in the Qingdao West Coast New Area starting Feb 10.

Museums, heritage centers, and historic towns like Jimo ancient town will host exhibitions, paper-cutting workshops, and interactive folk activities. Through these diverse offerings, Qingdao aims to blend tradition with new experiences, creating a lively and culturally rich Spring Festival for all.
