(chinadaily.com.cn) | 2025-12-31

Shandong Port Group (SPG) announced in Qingdao that its total cargo throughput exceeded 1.9 billion metric tons in 2025, while its container volume surpassed 47 million TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units), marking a significant milestone in the SPG's high-quality development and increasing its global competitiveness.

In recent years, SPG has accelerated the development of a world-class marine port cluster by continuously enhancing hub capabilities, optimizing port functions, and expanding integrated logistics services. Cargo throughput has ranked first nationwide for three consecutive years, while overall throughput and container volume now stand among the world's leading ports, reflecting SPG's strong operational resilience and sustained growth momentum.

In 2025, SPG further strengthened collaboration with major global shipping lines, launching more than 20 new container routes and bringing the total number of services to 367, the most among northern Chinese ports. Sea-rail intermodal transport continued to expand, maintaining the nation's leading position for the 11th consecutive year and reinforcing SPG's role as a key international logistics hub.

At the same time, SPG advanced its digital and green transformation, accelerating the application of artificial intelligence, smart port technologies, and low-carbon solutions. By integrating port operations with supply chain services and port-adjacent industries, SPG is transitioning from a traditional port operator to a comprehensive port and logistics service provider.

Looking ahead, SPG will remain committed to supporting regional and national development, while steadily advancing toward its goal of becoming a world-class enterprise with globally competitive integrated supply chain capabilities.
