Qingdao unwraps winter carnival: Discounts, events and coastal charms
As the year ends, Qingdao has launched its vibrant New Year cultural and tourism season, introducing a series of new formats and scenes that combine local charm with modern trends, offering fresh winter experiences to visitors from home and abroad.
This diverse range of offerings not only makes winter travel more enjoyable but also energizes the tourism market, injecting strong vitality into the city.
The city welcomes all travelers this winter. Since the start of the 2025–26 winter tourism ticket-based discount campaign, visitors have access nearly 700 discounts across attractions, hotels, museums, dining, and cinemas by presenting train or flight tickets to Qingdao issued within seven days.
From iconic sites like Laoshan Mountain Scenic Area and the Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center to cultural performances and lifestyle hotels, a comprehensive tourism consumption chain is boosting the city's appeal.
A highlight of the season is the variety of New Year's Eve activities. Many attractions and districts across the city have already announced special plans to create unforgettable moments.
The Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center, for example, will host the "Hello 2026" celebration, integrating entertainment, business, and performances to boost winter tourism. Other venues like Qingdao Fantawild Dreamland have also rolled out exciting year-end events, extending a warm invitation to explore Qingdao in winter.
