Shandong Sealand Equipment Group secures major port project in West Africa
Shandong Sealand Equipment Group, a subsidiary of Shandong Port Group (SPG), has recently secured a significant port construction contract in West Africa.
The group will supply core conveying systems and process equipment, marking another milestone in its expansion into international markets.
The project aims to create a specialized hub for regional mineral resource exports, with strict requirements for equipment stability, continuity, and smart operation. The group leveraged its expertise in bulk material handling and high-quality products to outperform competitors.
Since 2020, the group has established a strong presence in Africa. Its Rizhao team efficiently completed a belt conveyor system project in Guinea within three months, boosting the port's annual bauxite throughput to the million-metric-ton level. This showcased "SPG speed" and provided valuable experience in addressing challenges in the African market, like high temperatures and power fluctuations.
"We provide not only equipment but also a comprehensive solution covering the entire lifecycle," said the head of the business center at Shandong Sealand Equipment Group's Rizhao Company. Six months before bidding, the team conducted detailed market research and prepared customized technical solutions, prioritizing customer needs to earn client trust.
