Golden season for grads: Qingdao universities host recruitment wave

September and October mark the peak recruitment season, offering a wealth of high-quality job opportunities for new graduates. Universities across Qingdao are hosting large-scale job fairs to connect the class of 2026 with promising careers.

A lively recruitment scene unfolded at China University of Petroleum (East China), which recently hosted the city's first major autumn campus job fair. The event attracted 258 leading companies, including 120 State-owned and large enterprises and 21 Global Fortune 500 companies. More than 10,000 positions were offered in sectors like petrochemicals, new energy, and information technology.

"Many employers here are industry leaders with highly relevant openings," said Song Jiaxuan, an undergraduate student seeking a role in the energy sector.

This recruitment momentum is echoed at other Qingdao universities. Qingdao University's dual-selection fair featured 560 employers, with State-owned and listed companies comprising 20 percent of participants. Over 22,000 resumes were submitted during the event. Similarly, Qingdao Agricultural University attracted more than 460 employers offering 13,000 positions, while Ocean University of China gathered 320 quality employers providing 24,000 job openings.

Beyond large fairs, universities are intensifying efforts through specialized recruitment events and career guidance services. These initiatives, including targeted workshops and policy presentations by regional human resources departments, ensure graduates are well-equipped to navigate the job market and secure their ideal positions during this peak hiring season.
