The 4th grape harvest festival of Qingdao West Coast New Area (Qingdao WCNA) kicked off in Dacun town on Sept 29. The event combines online streaming and offline activities, offering immersive experiences of vineyard life during the peak harvest season.
Through the "Leyou Dacun" WeChat mini-program, visitors can locate nearby picking gardens, cultural workshops, study bases, and local B&Bs.
Dacun town's unique environment — nestled among nine hills, two rivers, and abundant reservoirs — provides fertile soil, clean water, and significant day-night temperature shifts, creating ideal conditions for grape sugar accumulation. The area produces premium varieties with an average yield of 2,250 kilograms per mu (0.067 hectare) across 18 vineyards covering 3,100 mu.
The festival also highlights grape-picking destinations across Qingdao WCNA, where vineyards are heavy with ripe fruit. Whether joining online "cloud picking" or visiting in person, guests can taste fresh grapes straight from the vine and embrace the sweet taste of autumn.
This celebration not only promotes rural tourism but also strengthens the local grape brand, offering urban residents a flavorful escape into nature during the upcoming National Day holiday season.
