Global voices celebrate Confucian classics in Qingdao
The Annual Award Ceremony of the Fourth Cross-Lingual Chanting Assembly of Confucian Classics lit up the Qingdao SCODA Pearl International Expo Center on Aug 5, marking an important milestone in cross-cultural dialogue.
At the event, the Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies introduced its new multilingual communication think tank, while also launching the fifth edition of this forward-thinking initiative.
Since September 2024, the competition has reached more than 70 nations — from the United States to Russia — with over 50,000 participants interpreting timeless wisdom in 12 languages. An impressive 23,000 submissions were received, including 1,531 works from SCO member states, which made up 45 percent of international entries.
Co-hosted by the Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies, the China Confucius Foundation, and Shandong provincial authorities, this event demonstrated that Confucius' teachings continue to bridge civilizations.
