The SMC Qingdao vessel set off from the Qingdao Qianwan Container Terminal (QQCT) of Qingdao Port, part of Shandong Port Group (SPG), on July 15, marking the opening of Shandong Marine Corporation's first Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) (Indonesia-Malaysia) international feeder line.

This route, created under the Shandong Marine Corporation's (SMC) "Feeder Express of SPG" brand, establishes a direct connection between the Southeast Asian manufacturing hinterland and international hub ports, providing customers with "door-to-door" one-stop maritime logistics services.

SMC Qingdao's first stop is Port Klang in Malaysia. The international feeder line between Indonesia and Malaysia is scheduled to officially begin Aug 1, using a liner shipping model to provide solid maritime support for regional trade.

The vessel deployed on this route is 118 meters long, 20.8 meters wide, and 11.2 meters deep, with a container capacity of 712 twenty-foot equivalent units. It serves as a dual-purpose vessel for both "multipurpose" and "general cargo" functions, meeting the transportation requirements for the majority of dangerous goods categories under the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code.

This vessel not only meets the operational requirements of unlimited trading areas but is also optimally designed for the high-density and fast turnover characteristics of Southeast Asian regional feeder transportation and the significant demand for refrigerated containers, which reduces the operating costs per container and creates benefits for customers.
