Qingdao has secured a spot in both the top 10 domestic travel destinations and top 10 inbound travel destinations thanks to its picturesque coastal scenery, rich maritime culture, and pleasant climate, according to a report released by Chinese online travel agency Ctrip Group.
During the holiday, hotel bookings in Qingdao increased by 24 percent compared to last year, while flight bookings grew by 12 percent, showcasing the city's strong tourism appeal. Visitors from Beijing, Shanghai, Jinan, Weifang, and Yantai were drawn to Qingdao for its seaside charm and diverse culture.
With the gradual implementation of various visa-free policies over the past year, an increasing number of foreigners are traveling to China. This is evident in the doubled hotel search interest for inbound travel during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday on Ctrip, highlighting China's allure to overseas visitors.
As China's tourism market continues to open up, more and more international tourists are turning their attention to Qingdao.
The city's unique urban landscape, with red-tiled roofs and lush greenery, along with renowned cultural events like the Qingdao International Beer Festival, holds strong appeal for tourists from countries such as Malaysia, South Korea, and Singapore.
