The Wandering Earth 3 commenced filming at the China Movie Metropolis in Qingdao West Coast New Area on April 15, marking the start of yet another exciting interstellar journey.

In 2017, when the first The Wandering Earth movie began filming at the China Movie Metropolis, director Guo Fan's intent was clear.
"Coming to Qingdao to shoot is about capturing the essence of sci-fi futurism. I believe in this regard, we will succeed," he said.

The 40 studios at the China Movie Metropolis are all designed to the highest global standards, featuring state-of-the-art indoor temperature-controlled underwater studios and outdoor filming pools that lead the world. 

Additionally, the digital audiovisual center, equipped with advanced hardware and strong technical capabilities, serves as a professional office area for film and television post-production. 

The Qingdao Film and Television Base, led by the China Movie Metropolis, has transformed into a science fiction hub. Visualized script previews have significantly reduced on-site communication times, while LED virtual production walls have replaced traditional green screens. AI-assisted modeling technology has cut scene concept design times by almost half. Qingdao West Coast New Area is reshaping the boundaries of sci-fi film presentation through technological innovation.
