The eastern coastal hub of Qingdao, Shandong province will build 50,000 parking spots during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), said local authorities.

The city plans to build 37 public parking lots with 17,000 new parking spots this year. All the projects have already started construction.

It has also launched a slew of measures to tackle its car parking problems, including better using existing resources, building new facilities and setting up databases for authorities to monitor real-time parking information.

An enterprise for the investment, construction, operation and management of the city's public parking resources has been set up this year to make parking easier for residents.
