Originating from Suzhou-style moon cakes, the white crisp-wrapper moon cakes in Qingdao are crispy and come in different flavors.

Fillings can be sweet – using pine nuts, walnuts, roses or red beans and others -- or savory, using  ham, shrimps and green onions. Most local residents enjoy the cakes during the Chinese traditional festivals.
