Nearly 14,000 runners gathered in Jining for the city's second marathon on April 6, during the Qingming Festival holiday. With men's champion Li Zicheng finishing in a record time of 2:20:01, the event showcased Jining's commitment to hosting a top-tier race.

The marathon event stood out for its deep cultural integration. Race outfits featured golden lines symbolizing Confucius Temple and the Grand Canal. Finisher medals featured the classic Confucius saying, "Isn't it a joy to have friends coming from afar?" Traditional crafts and local products were displayed along the route, turning the race into a cultural festival.

Technology also played a key role. AI-generated highlight videos were sent to every runner, while 5G and cloud computing enabled real-time race data. Over 2,000 volunteers ensured everything went smoothly, and medical teams were stationed every 2.5 kilometers.

Additionally, 79 scenic spots offered free entry to participants in the race, helping boost tourism. The marathon has become more than a sporting event; it is a vibrant window into Jining's heritage and a showcase for its hospitality. According to statistics, over 932,400 visitors flocked to the city during the Qingming Festival holiday, generating 28.48 million yuan ($4.17 million) in revenue.
