Print PrintJinan launched its first drone route integrating medical care and disease prevention on Nov 25 at the Children's Hospital Affiliated to Shandong University, marking a significant advancement in the city's public health emergency response capabilities.
The inaugural flight demonstrated the efficiency of the new service, with the drone transporting medical samples from the hospital to the Jinan Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
With the new route in service, the transport time between the hospital and Jinan's center for disease control has been shortened from about one hour to just seven minutes, significantly accelerating sample delivery and strengthening emergency response.
The drone is equipped with advanced technologies for safe and stable flight and can carry up to six kilograms. These include a remote monitoring system and a 4G module for real-time communication and data transmission.
The route is designed to avoid densely populated areas and tall buildings, minimizing the flight distance.
At the launch ceremony, Wang Dong, deputy director of the Jinan Municipal Health Commission, emphasized that the drone service line strengthens the integration of medical care and disease prevention, providing stronger support for public health emergencies.
