Zibo hosts international youth exchange, friendship event

The 2025 Global Youth Conference and Zibo's International Friendship Cities 40th Anniversary & the 2nd International Friendship Week kicked off in Zibo, Shandong province on May 28.

Over 300 guests from 28 countries including leaders of international sister cities and friendship organizations, heads of embassies, consulates, and representative offices in China, as well as young entrepreneurs attended.

The event featured themed presentations by sister cities, the release of a series of achievements in international youth exchange and cooperation, signing ceremonies for sister city partnerships and collaborative projects, and the launch of the International Youth Initiative for Green, Low-carbon and Sustainable Development.

During the event, Lova Narivelo Razafindrafito, governor of Haute Matsiatra region of Madagascar delivered a keynote speech, highlighting the memorandum of understanding between Zibo and Haute Matsiatra region, hoping to establish a mutually beneficial relationship of friendly cooperation. 

A youth dialogue was also held at the Zibo Polytechnic University, with young representatives from countries including South Korea, Morocco, and Romania gathered to engage in dialogue and share their special connection with Shandong.

Baek Seohui, a South Korean youth representative, expressed that the younger generation should serve as ambassadors for learning about other cultures. She hopes to share Shandong's rich history and warm development story with the world.
