According to the airline, passenger trips to North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, as well as Northeast and Northwest of China increased significantly during the summer compared with the first and second quarter of this year.

As grassland tourism is popular during the summer, Shandong Airlines has added more flights to its schedules, including flights from Jinan to Hailar and Hohhot in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, flights from Qingdao to Chifeng, Hailar, and Hohhot, as well as flights from Yantai to Hohhot.

It has opened additional flights in a northeast direction, including flightsfrom Jinan to the Changbai Mountains, Yanji, Dalian, and Mudanjiang, flights from Qingdao to Dandong, the Changbai Mountains, Qiqihar, Shenyang, and Dalian, as well as flights from Yantai to Shenyang.

Flights from Jinan, Qingdao, and Yantai to cities in Northwest China have also been added.

Shandong Airlines has also been bolstering efforts to boost the integrated development of civil aviation and red tourism.

Red tourism, which refers to visiting historical sites with a revolutionary legacy, is gaining popularity in the domestic tourism market as more people are choosing to visit important sites of the War of Liberation (1946-49) in a year that the Communist Party of China is celebrating the 100th anniversary of its founding.

The company now operates 139 routes to red tourism destinations and carries out 847 round-trip flights per week.
