Jining's multi‑modal transport engine roars to life
Jining is accelerating its transport network on all fronts. The city's three national pilot projects, including smart waterways, smart ports, and "rural roads + tourism", have all passed provincial reviews. From January to February alone, transport investment hit 2.08 billion yuan ($305.11 million), fueling the rapid development of Jining's transportation.

Jining has been promoting the expansion and upgrading of expressways, enhancing the regional expressway network. The city plans to build and upgrade 362 kilometers of rural roads and 136 km of tourist routes this year. Additionally, the city's first musical road along Weishan Lake has opened to traffic, offering a unique experience for drivers.

As for railway construction, work continues on the Jinan-Zaozhuang high-speed railway, while Jining's Liangshan station on the Xiong'an-Shangqiu line is ready for joint commissioning and will open in September. Several dedicated freight rail lines are also under construction.

As a northern inland shipping hub, Jining Port handled 20.17 million metric tons of cargo, a 26.2 percent year-on-year increase, and 92,000 TEUs, up 70.4 percent compared to last year, in the first two months of 2026. Key projects like the Weishan Third Line Ship Lock Project are currently underway.

Aviation is also injecting new momentum into Jining's development. The Jining Da'an Airport added new routes linking cities such as Changsha and Ordos, Guiyang and Yantai, improving connections to central, northwest, southwest and east China.
With integrated road, rail, water and air networks, Jining is building a high‑efficiency transport system to boost regional development.
