Qufu in Jining, Shandong province, is emerging as a powerhouse in the auto parts industry across China, with companies like Qufu TEMB Auto Parts Manufacturing leading the charge. TEMB has become a key player in the development of electronic water valves, a critical component in regulating the temperatures of air conditioning, motors, and batteries in new energy vehicles.
In recent years, TEMB has optimized its supply chain by collaborating with local manufacturers, reducing development time by 10 to 15 days and cutting costs by about 10 percent. This move has not only improved efficiency but also boosted the local economy by supporting the growth of upstream suppliers.
TEMB's commitment to innovation is evident in its substantial R&D investment, with over 4 percent of its annual sales revenue dedicated to research and development. The company has partnered with experts and research institutions worldwide to develop advanced technologies, including the fourth-generation electronic water valve. This product, which boasts the industry's fastest response time, lowest internal leakage, and longest lifespan, is now used in over a hundred vehicle models, including those from Volkswagen, BYD, CHANGAN, and CHERY.
Qufu aims to surpass 10 billion yuan ($1.39 billion) in revenue by 2027, positioning itself as a major hub for auto parts manufacturing.
